Title: Lithuanian Dragoons
Post by: Rethmeier on June 15, 2011, 11:37:37 PM
A Detachment of the Lithuanian Dragoons (3rd Prussian Dragoons) has been formed under the leadership of Lt Element and Uffz Pilawa.  They will be playing as Cavalry, Skirmshers, and Line Infantry depending on where I need them and where we can get slots.  We will be selecting men over the next week or two so if you are interested make sure to take part in the cavalry/skirmisher drills.  Good luck.

Note: Only excessively active members will be considered for the Dragoons.  Currently only a few people will be assigned to the dragoons.  Therefore, they must ALL be active.  If you go inactive in the Dragoons, you will be transferred back to the line.

Also, since we are now a "true" battalion.  I have been promoted to Major.

Amazing, let's see how this turns out. Would really like to see a group of dragoons working in conjunction with our lines.

Indeed, I do like the idea of real dragoons and not heavy cavalrymen...

Yeah, just imagine this scenario-
Reth is leading us through the plains and we are about to reach the crest of a hill. BUT, what we didn't know is that a 42nd highland regiment was waiting behind the top of the hill. They rise up and let off a deadly volley, taking many of our men. But off in the distance the thundering sound of hooves moves across the ground, trampling and war crying all the way there. In seconds, they dismount to the flank of the highlanders, and let loose a volley- obliterating the right portion of the highlander regiment. Reth valiantly takes a shot to the face for us all and as he departed this Earth, he shouted "CHARGE". And so the rank and file of the 1stEPI fix their bayonets and crash into the highlanders! The dragoons mount up and give the routing remnants of the highlanders nothing but cold steel!

Very nice!
Glad to see the new dynamics.
I wish the Dragoons good luck. A little reminder though. Fritz and I regularly prepare the regimental bbq. Keep eye on your horses when we are gathering our supplies.

It's exciting to see us growing into a full Battalion.  Have to say though, I'm jealous of the Lithuanian Dragoons because they have a way cooler name than "2. Zug".

Crazy news. If there's a regiment capable of deploying dragoons correctly, its the 1stEPI. Looking forward to seeing them in action some day.

Well this time around we've got an officer who won't go inactive and we'll be actively dropping anyone who goes inactive from this unit.  They will maintain low, but active, membership.

They're not even full time dragoons.
And dragoons are just mounted infantrymen to technically doesn't that still make us Infantry?

My ISP has just about pissed me off for the last time. They get paid $70 for my connection and they're as unreliable as fuck. Half the time for our events I spend 90% of my time spectating because I get kicked from the server because my Internet decides to cut out for a second. And quite frankly, I'm embarrassed because half the time I DC we're about to head into a fight, or I completely fuck up a column. It's god damn random as hell and I've frequently contemplated just leaving. This is by far the most fun I have ever had in any video game but these random DCs are just complete BS. During the dragoon training my horse and myself teleported around constantly and randomly due to lag. This, not only constantly embarrassing me, also messed up our formations...

And here I was sometimes rambling about my random lag streaks (no matter what my ping is, 28 or 200) these random lagstreaks decide to attack me... But your shit is many more times shittier than my shit...

Also, awesome about that new Major! :D

Lag steaks are delicious, but they're hard to cook.  They keep jumping all over the grill and when you go to flip them your barbecue fork goes right through them.
