THE EAST PRUSSIAN INFANTRY
1. INFANTERIE-DIVISION
08 JUL 2017
OPERATION ORDER 0708-17 (Invasion of Crete)

Time Zone Used Throughout the Order: QUEBEC
(Eastern Standard Time)

TASK ORGANIZATION
Elements from 1.Gruppe and 2. Gruppe of Erste Zug, Erste Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 1

I. SITUATION

a. Area of Interest: The Grecian Island of Crete

b. Area of Operations: Area encompassing grid coordinates 0400-0401, Including the central Farm land, supporting villages, and lakes on the south-center of the island.

     (1) Terrain
  • Observation and Fields of Fire:
The AO Consists of mostly flat, tree farms with think vegetation and many wooded areas on both flanks. Roadways are easily accessible to both friendly and enemy troops to allow for quick movement of QRF within the AO. Visibility will be incredibly limited <100m in some areas often interupted by trees.  While easy to cover and conceal friendly movement, the enemy can also exploit this advantage. Expect a possible ambush by hostile forces.
  • Avenues of Approach:
From the insertion point, friendly forces will need to initiate movement directly south through the farmland toward the objective, clearing enemy presence as encountered.  The enemy expects friendly forces to attack from this direction. Plan to encounter established defenses
  • Key and Decisive Terrain:
Located on a small hilltop, the lighthouse serving as the objective provides a strong point for enemy forces in the area.
  • Obstacles:
Obstacles will include man-made structures and debris, Narrow roadways, think farmland, and a few lakes will provide obstacles that may impede friendly movement in the area
  • Cover and Concealment:
Cover available includes rocks, thick trees, as well as any man-made structures and buildings which can be re-purposed. Enemy forces have more established cover and concealment from their defensive positions, which will be encountered.

c. Enemy forces: Enemy forces are mixed contingents of both British and Grecian Armies, along with civilian militia .

  • Recent Activities
Enemy forces have been mounting a defense of their island home. Civilians have been known to be uncooperative with friendly forces, and trained enemies are in some cases resorting to guerrilla-style warfare.
  • Strength
We are securing our control of the Grecian island of Crete. The capitol city has fallen, and at this point, we are just mopping up small packs of resistance. The threat comes from guerrilla-style combat which can be difficult to pin-point. We have learned of a few areas where the enemy is still basing its strength.  Upon securing the lighthouse, everything eastward on the island will be under friendly control.

  • Composition/Disposition
Enemy forces are composed to no-more than conventional land forces, and mostly small-arms. They do not have naval or air support. Enemy soldiers generally operate in small squad sized elements in attempts to easily conceal their movements from us.  Keep in mind the civilian populace. We are becoming an occupation force, and unnecessary civilian casualties will not be tolerated.

II. MISSION
Elements from Erste Zug, Erste Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 1, 1. Infanterie-Division will conduct operations in the central region of the Island of Crete encompassing the regions of grid coordinates 0400-0401 to destroy and disrupt resistance activity.

Tasks: To move southward from the capitol tough the region clearing enemy activity along the way, until reaching the objective of the lighthouse on the central-southern tip of the island. This objective must be secured and the eastern half of the island made safe before pushing any further west. Upon the capture of the objective, the platoon will relocate, rearm, and regroup in the nearby village of Minospol.

Purpose: To destroy enemy moral and solidify our control of the area.

III. EXECUTION

a. Commanders Intent:  Operations are executed and objectives fulfilled in accordance with direction from higher. Soldiers know and complete individual soldier tasks safely, and mission is completed with minimal casualties.

b. Concept of Operations:

The Decisive point will be when the Zug successfully captures the enemy occupied lighthouse on the central-southern tip of the island. Upon completion of the objective the Zug will regroup with friendly forces in the village of Minospol awaiting further instruction

The Operation will begin with the Zug being inserted at 1730 to the south of the City of Heraklion, with equipment and ammunition.  The platoon will be organized and leadership designated.

The Platoon will then proceed, under the leadership of the Zug Fuhrer from the insertion point toward the Objective, clearing the area of enemy presence along the route.

The Operation will conclude with the Zug securing the lighthouse and surrounding defensive positions and regrouping in Minospol

c. Tasks to Subordinate Units and Staff:

(General) Ensure all soldiers are properly equipped for extended time in the field. Double check Weapons, Grenades, and Ammunition

  • Medical Personnel - Attached medical personnel will provide on-site care to soldiers of 1.Zug. Ensure medical personnel are properly equiped with enough supplies to sustain prolonged conflict in the field without resupply
  • Demolitions Expert - A rifleman in each Gruppe of 1. Zug will be designated as the Explosives expert, and should be equiped, in addition to their standard load as a rifleman, with enough explosives to destroy enemy weapons emplacements
  • Grenadier - A rifleman in each Gruppe 1. Zug will be designated as the grenadier, and should be equiped, in addition to their standard load asa rifleman, with enough grenades to operate effectively as the grenadier on behalf of their Gruppe
  • Staff personnel -  Any Unit Staff personnel attached to the 1. Zug for the operation on Crete should provide proper documentation and administration for the unit, prior to the start of their Operation. Attendance should be taken and recorded.

IV. SUSTAINMENT

a. Logistics and Resupply:
Resupply on ammunition and expendable equipment will be provided on request from the Zug Fuhrer by friendly logistics forces using supply trucks. Consider the roads available and the terrain, which may impede the speed at which 1. Zug can be resupplied.  Consider also the security of the area which requires resupply.   Soldiers should assume that re-supply is unavailable, and should be prepared for prolonged combat without resupply

b. Support:
Limited support will be provided by adjacent friendly forces.  Air Support will be available in the form of JU-87, and can be utilized sparingly by the Zug Fuhrer per the mission needs.  Consider Indirect Fire support unavailable for this operation

V. COMMAND AND SIGNAL

a. Command

(1) Location of the Commander:
For the duration of the operation beginning at 1730, the commander will be on post, coordinating mission efforts with friendly forces. The Zug Fuhrer, in the grade of Leutnant will lead the Zug on the ground.

b. Signal:
The Zug Fuhrer should be equipped with a Radio to communicate with command, and support elements. Members of 1.Zug will not have radio equipment, and will have to rely on vocal guidance from their first line-leadership in order to accomplish the mission.

OPERATION ORDER 0610-17 (Invasion of Crete)

Time Zone Used Throughout the Order: QUEBEC
(Eastern Standard Time)

TASK ORGANIZATION
Elements from 1.Gruppe and 2. Gruppe of Erste Zug, Erste Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 1

I. SITUATION

a. Area of Interest: The Grecian Island of Crete

b. Area of Operations: Area encompassing grid coordinates 0501-0502, Including the central Flat-lands surrounding the capitol City of Heraklion, The Maleme Airfield, and the Villiage of Chania.

     (1) Terrain
  • Observation and Fields of Fire:
The AO Consists of mostly flat, farm land with sparsely spread wooded areas on the northern and southern flanks. Roadways are accessible to both friendly and enemy troops to allow for quick movement of QRF within the AO. Visibility within this terrain is wide and in excess of 100m.  This will slow movement, as friendly forces need to be considerate of how visible they will be to potential enemy forces in the area. Fields of fire will be wide and should provide a security concern.
  • Avenues of Approach:
The Maleme Airfield, and defenses surrounding the northern approach of Heraklion are decisive pieces of terrain crucial for the Grecian defense of crete, and will be well defended with limited avenues of approach. Erste Group will best use the terrain available to exploit weaknesses in these defenses.
  • Key and Decisive Terrain:
The Flatlands surrounding Heraklion are the last piece of terrain which must be secured before the assault on the city itself. The Airfield of Maleme must be secured to allow for easier resupply of friendly troops, and for reinforcement before the assault on the capitol is to begin. These areas must be successfully secured in order to advance our mission on Crete.
  • Obstacles:
Obstacles will include man-made structures and debris.
  • Cover and Concealment:
Cover is limited to large trees and rocks, as well as any man-made structures and buildings which can be re-purposed. Enemy forces have more established cover and concealment from their defensive positions, which will be encountered.

c. Enemy forces: Enemy forces are mixed contingents of both British and Grecian Armies.

  • Recent Activities
Enemy forces have been mounting a defense of their island home. Civilians have been known to be uncooperative with friendly forces, and trained enemies are in some cases resorting to guerrilla-style warfare.  The Grecian forces are mounting a desperate defense in last attempts to keep friendly forces out of the capitol city.
  • Strength
Enemy strength on the island of Crete is fading.  They still maintain control of the large population and economic centers on the island. There are a large number of friendly forces on Crete, but capture of the Maleme Airfield will allow for reinforcement of friendly territory.

  • Composition/Disposition
Enemy forces are composed to no-more than conventional land forces, and mostly small-arms. They do not have naval or air support. Enemy soldiers generally operate in small squad sized elements in attempts to easily conceal their movements from us.  We expect greater numbers and equipment defending Maleme Airfield and a few key defensive positions guarding the northern approach to Heraklion.

II. MISSION
Elements from Erste Zug, Erste Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 1, 1. Infanterie-Division will conduct operations in the central flat lands of the Island of Crete encompassing the regions of grid coordinates 0501-0502 to destroy and disrupt enemy troops and assets in the region

Tasks: To capture strategic enemy held strong points scattered through the region. The Maleme Military Airfield,  The Villiage of Chania, and the defensive positions surrounding the northern approach to Heraklion.

Purpose: To destroy enemy moral and supply lines, and allow for easier mobility of friendly forces leading to the eventual capture of Crete

III. EXECUTION

a. Commanders Intent:  Operations are executed and objectives fulfilled in accordance with direction from higher. Soldiers know and complete individual soldier tasks safely, and mission is completed with minimal casualties.

b. Concept of Operations:

The Decisive point will be when the Zug successfully captures both The Maleme Airfield, and the Villiage of Chania, providing a strong-point for friendly forces to begin preparations for a siege on the city of Heraklion.

The Operation will begin with the Zug being inserted at 1430 in Fort Repentance, with equipment and ammunition.  The platoon will be organized and leadership designated.

The Platoon will then proceed, under the leadership of the Zug Fuhrer from Fort Repentance to the first Objective, The Maleme Airfield

The Operation will conclude with the Zug securing the final objective, or defensive positions on the Northern outskirts of Heraklion

c. Tasks to Subordinate Units and Staff:

Information & Application / The East Prussian Infantry (Overview)
« on: May 18, 2017, 08:57:46 AM »

Wilkommen!
The East Prussian Infantry was formed in December 2010 for the purpose of accurately representing historic military structure and tactics to the best of our ability within the gaming universe, while maintaining a social-community style atmosphere. Our unit and family has grown over the years, and we've had the opportunity to educate many not only on game-play, but on the tactics and structure of a military unit of the era. We've found that recreating historical structure in a video-game attracts a more mature crowd, and makes game-play a little more challenging. From our humble beginnings as a Prussian line-company practicing Napoleonic-era battle doctrine to subject-matter experts on German small-unit infantry practices on the field during WWII, The East Prussian Infantry is a one-of-a-kind, organized, professional group of historians reenactors, and gamers using 21st century gaming as a way to entertain and educate. Onward, to victory!  Für das Vaterland!

A Long, Proud History
Originally established as a Prussian Infantry regiment set in the Napoleonic-era, for over 6 years, the East Prussian Infantry served as a professional line-unit well-versed in historically accurate battle doctrine, capable of fielding mass formations of soldiers, each fully understanding his or her duty and role.  What the East Prussian Infantry was able to achieve took much teamwork and enthusiasm from the many who participated over the years. In 2017, the East Prussian Infantry sought a new challenge, and decided to bring the world of historical structure, tactics, discipline, and professionalism into the gaming universe of ARMA III.

The EPI - 2012

Expectations

Whether as a recruit, or a full-fledged soldier, our members are expected to do the following:

✠ Learn and follow the Code of Conduct

✠ Learn, and become proficient in basic Tactics and Skills

✠ Be relatively active, attend training when possible, and alert your squad leader if you are unable to participate or are taking an extended leave.

✠ Display humility, respect, and motivation.

Those who can do these four things will find themselves a good match for the EPI, and will be prime candidates for promotion should they be proficient and willing to take on leadership roles.
Code of Conduct

As general guidelines, members are to practice the following points:
a more detailed outline of our code of conduct can be found Here!

1. Be respectful to everyone. This includes your comrades in the 1st, members of other regiments, public players, admins, officers, non-commissioned officers, and people on the forums.

2. Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner. This means that cursing, glitching, trolling, flaming, and name calling or other forms of fighting are not allowed. This is especially important when we are in events or on a public server.

3. Follow Orders. It is paramount for the survival of the regiment that all orders given by our Offiziere and Unteroffizieren are followed to the letter and without question or argument. There is a time and place to discuss tactics and whether or not certain orders should be given or not. Directly after the order is given is not one of those times. This also applies to the Rules laid out by admins on their servers. We respect the right of admins to run their servers.

4. Do not retaliate. Regardless of the situation, if something is done to you (ie Teamkill, insult, etc) you are not to retaliate! Instead, you are to inform an officer or admin and report the problem. Anyone found retaliating will be dealt with in the same manner as the original offender.

RANK STRUCTURE
of the German rifle company

Schutzen

Unteroffiziere

Offiziere

-No Rank Insignia-

Rekrut (RKT):
Upon enlisting in the EPI, new members will be granted the title of Rekrut, until successful completion of the Schutze Basic Training Course. This basic course will provide the new member with a basic understanding of the gameplay Mechanics of ARMA, as well as the role of the rifleman in the rifle squad. New Rekruts will also be given instruction on the structure of the infantry platoon, and basic tactics.

Obergefreiter (OGFR) / Stabsgefreiter (SGFR):
An Obergefreiter or StabsGefreiter is  a Gefreiter who has chosen to pursue a path of leadership within the EPI. These are successful graduates of the Team leaders course (TLC)and show an understanding of how to take care of not only themselves, but others on the field.  They are reliable and can be called on by the Unteroffizer to lead a detachment from the squad. They know how formations are to be applied and when to use them. They understand the operation as well as how to coordinate and communicate. In the event that the Unteroffizier has been killed, an Obergefreiter is able to jump into action and assume command of the squad without any loss of momentum.

The StabsGefreiter title is assigned to a soldier of the same pay-grade who has been assigned to an administrative duty within the EPI. Many times this involves maintenence of personnel records, ensuring communication lines are flowing, and assisting in new Rekrut in-processing.

Leutnant (LT):
The Leutnant is the lowest commissioned officer within the german army, and serve as platoon leaders. They are ultimately responsible to their company commander for their platoon, administratively. They process awards and promotions for soldiers within their platoon. Ultimately,  they assume command of their platoon within the field, through the use of their Feldwebel and Unteroffizieren.

Schutze (SHZ):
Graduation of the Basic Schutze course comes with a promotion to Schutze, the basic rifleman and lowest official rank in the EPI. Schutzen are expected to follow our code of conduct and carry out the orders of superiors. They act as professional representatives of the EPI. They work to expand their knowledge and ability in game, tactically and technically.

Unteroffizier (UFFZ):
Unteroffiziere are the Squad leaders within the rifle platoon. These sergeants are responsible for effectively maneuvering using formations and employing the assets of their squad to close and destroy the enemy in order to accomplish the mission, while coordinating with their Platoon's Feldwebel and peer squad leaders. They can communicate orders both with their squad and can coordinate movement and attacks with the other rifle squads. Unteroffiziere are responsible for maintaining discipline and combat effectiveness of their squad. They resolve issues on the squad level and are proficient in both giving and receiving orders. They are expected to interact with the members of their squad and make sure that all are fully functional. Unteroffiziere are the true leaders of the EPI

Oberleutnant (OLT):

An Oberleutnant is a seasoned Leutnant who can either fill the billet as a platoon leader, or has been selected to serve as the Executive Officer (XO) of the Company.  The executive officer's duties are mostly administrative, coordinating training for the company, and maintaining a high level of readiness. The Stabsgefreiteren within the company work as clerks with the executive officer  In the field, an Oberleutnant serves as an assistant to the commander, and steps in to lead the company in his absence.

Oberschutze (OSHZ):
Oberschutzen are experienced soldiers. Members who have proven that they understand the role of the rifleman on the field, and can use this effectively. They understand the formations used, and can efficiently maneuver and communicate as an effective member of the squad.

Feldwebel (FW):
The Feldwebel is the senior-most NCO in the Platoon, responsible to the Platoon Leader (Leutnant), and a coordinator on the field. The Feldwebel uses his subbordinate squads to fufill orders and successfully accomplish the mission. He resolves issues in the platoon, which cannot be handled by the Unteroffizeren. He acts as a communication link between the officers and the enlisted personnel. He ensures that his platoon maintains a high level of readiness, and assists in maintaining accountability. He recommends awards and promotions to the Leutnant for members of the platoon.

Hauptmann (HPT):
The Hauptmann is the commander of the rifle company, and assumes command on the field. He is ultimately responsible for everything the company does or fails to do to his battalion commander, and makes command decisions on behalf of the company. He uses his executive officer and platoon leaders to ensure training is coordinated and the soldiers are fully functioning and capable. He coordinates with outside support on the field and issues orders to his platoon leaders to most efficiently close and destroy the enemy.

Gefreiter (GFR):
Gefreiteren in the EPI compose the bulk of the force. These soldiers are experts in their craft, fall seamlessly into the organization and are the ideal rifleman. They understand individual soldier tasks, and look out for one another. They represent the EPI on and off the field. At this point in their military career, Gefreiteren are free to begin earning certifications on other weaponry, and learn how to expand their knowledge beyond that of the rifle. Medics, Radio operators, and Machine Gunners are just a few examples of necessary assets during battle, and Gefreiteren are the reliable soldiers who take the initiative to learn and fill these roles.  These soldiers demonstrate the utmost level of professionalism, and provide guidance for new members

Hauptfeldwebel (HFW):
The senior-most NCO in a company, responsible for coordinating the movement and use of the rifle platoons within the company. He maintains discipline within the company, and acts as the right-hand man and a communication link between the enlisted men of the company and the Hauptmann.

OUR ORGANIZATION

Our Unit
There are many opportunities within the East Prussian Infantry to provide members with an understanding of military history of the era, in a social, mature atmosphere. Here you will find some basic information on our unit regarding our event times, and references to our manuals, not only from WWII, but those that have been compiled from the Napoleonic-Era / American Civil War, which have been written and adapted for use in-game over many years.  We invite you to participate with us, and feel free to ask questions!

UNDERSTANDING THE STRUCTURE OF THE RIFLE COMPANY

Organization of the Company

The Company is the smallest unit to complete itself, and should be able to field at least 40 men rank-and-file. For this purpose, given an average attendance rate of 50-66% for any given event, at least 80 active members should be maintained on paper. The unit is ran at the company-level by the Hauptmann (Captain) and HauptFeldwebel (1st Sergeant).

Each company is divided into platoons, termed "Zug." Ideally, each Zug should be able to field 20 soldiers rank and file, in addition to one Officer (a LT or OLT) who is designated the Platoon Leader, a ranking Feldwebel, who is designated the Platoon Sergeant. Each Platoon should consist of at least 2, 10 man rifle squads called a "Gruppe", each of which are led by an Unteroffizier

Thus, the minimum strength Company comprised of two Zug shall include:
1 Hauptmann - Company Commander
1 Oberleutnant - Company Executive Officer
1 Hauptfeldwebel - Company 1st Sergeant
2 Leutnants - Each overseeing a Zug
2 Feldwebels - Each assigned to a Zug
4 Unteroffiziere - Min. 2 in each Zug assigned as squad leaders
4-8 Obergefreiteren/Stabsgefreiteren - 2~4 in each Zug, NCOs capable of serving as team/detachment leaders and File closers
4 MG Schutzen - Min. 1 per squad, who is responsible for the MG assigned to each squad
32+ Schutzen - 16+ in each Zug

Also included may be:
 Medics, Radio Operators, Anti-Tank soldiers

Thus, a full strength Company on paper shall be comprised of no less than 44-52 men in total. The Company's field strength will generally be only 50-66% of its strength on paper for any given event, accounting for average attendance. Should the Company maintain a high level of activity and attendance, the number of men required to maintain a full strength Company on paper may be lower than prescribed above.

Mark your calendar for Saturday July 11, 2015!

At 8pm EDT/EST, we'll be participating in a Throwback Mount & Musket Linebattle event with other members of the Prussian Army and Hardcore Linebattle.

Mount&Musket was the Warband Modification that served as a precursor to the Mount&Blade: Napoleonic Wars expansion.  Our regiment was very active in the Mount&Musket community prior to the release of NW, so this will be a lot of fun for our older veterans. However, for those of you who haven't played MM, you're going to get to experience what a linebattle was like in the early days. A good many of us are quite excited for this event!  Invite your friends and the reservists. Everyone will want to participate!

It's a free download, and is installed in the same way as every other Warband Modification.  If you do not already have this mod installed, I would encourage you to make an effort to download it, so that you can participate on the 11th!  Download links can be found here:

Events & Announcements / IMPORTANT: SKIRMISH AGAINST [Nr92]! - 2/23/2014
« on: January 31, 2014, 12:32:53 PM »
Hey 1stEPI,

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY FEBRUARY 23RD AT 8PM, DUE TO THIS SILLY THING KNOWN AS THE SUPERBOWL

the [Nr92] Leader contacted me on steam, and wanted to arrange a 1v1 Skirmish against the regiment. They said that they would bring a group of around 30ish, so we need to do our absolute best to also bring the same numbers.

The event will be held SUNDAY EVENING (feb. 23rd) at 8pm EST.  I will need everyone to be on teamspeak by 7:30, so that we can get organized.  This an an absolute must, as we need to know how many people we are going to have prior to the actual start of this.

He sent me the rules he would like to use, and I have agreed to the following:
1. 2 maps
2. Half man spacing
3. No firing out of line
4. No splitting lines
5. Double ranks**

for the most part, it will be similar to what we use every Tuesday and Friday.

**They have absolutely No idea how to fight in a double rank line, so on 1 of the two maps they are going to fight in their single rank. I've agreed to this only because of the effort that they will make to fight in double, with absolutely no prior experience.

1stEPI Please make an effort to attend this event. This guy holds our regiment in high regard, and I wouldn't like to disappoint him by our showing or level of discipline on the field.

Thanks and I hope to see you all there!

Age of False Innocence

A 7th Prussian Foot Training - Oct 2010
Prior to the official founding of the 1st East Prussian Infantry in December of 2010, the regiment held a different name in Age of False Innocence. This mod took place during the seven years war, and was one of the first to set up an atmosphere for a new kind of battle that had never been seen before in Mount&Blade: Warband.

At the time, there was no such thing as "Linebattles." At least, not in the sense that we would think of today.  There was no structure or organization in battle, and players would run at one another discharging their firearms and waving their swords around in a very unsophisticated manor.

This changed with the 7th Prussian Foot. The small line regiment challenged the norms of battle, working to prove that marching in line was possible and beneficial. They began training and practicing adapting field manuals to work within the of Mount&Blade: Warband in hopes of one day seeing the dream of historically accurate "line-battles."  While not combat effective at the time, this was the first major step in the community toward the common close order drill seen today.

The Founding Fathers

On December 11, 2010, a group of members from the 7th Prussian Foot decided that a transition into the new Mount&Musket:Battalion mod would be beneficial and provide an environment where a disciplined and structured unit could thrive.

And so became the 1. Ostpreussische Infanterie (1st East Prussian Infantry) (Infantry Regiment Nr. 1). Led by Hauptmann Argus, the new 1st East Prussian Infantry immediately drew interest from the already growing community in Mount&Musket. Majority of the players in the Mount&Musket Community were from Europe, so the appearance of a mostly North American force was talked about. For awhile, the 1stEPI was unable to attend any of the existing European linebattles, and instead spent more time training and drilling the growing regiment in the accurate line tactics that had been perfected from the time spent in Age of False Innocence.

A 1st EPI Training - Dec 2010

--- 2011 ---
Mount&Musket: Battalion

It was in early 2011 that the 1st East Prussian Infantry entered into its first Linebattle, and the European regiments in attendance were immediately shocked by the precision of the double rank line drill that was displayed by this new regiment of North Americans.  The existing regiments in the community hadn't seen any form of well executed drill, and were used to simply following one another around in a single column snake.  This earned the 1st EPI a lot of respect for their measure of military bearing on and off of the field.

A New Kind of Battle Experience

1st EPI in North American Public Linebattle - Apr 2011
The 1st East Prussian Infantry continued on perfecting their drill, growing their ranks, and expanding their influence over the Mount&Musket:Battalion community. In February of 2011, the Feldwebel at the time, 5arge, began hosting the first ever North American Linebattle on friday evenings, and this forever changed not only the 1st EPI's linebattle experience, but also the North American community for Mount&Musket:Battalion. Up until this point, only European Linebattles had existed, which really didn't provide the North American players an opportunity to participate.

This vastly improved the combat effectiveness of the 1st East Prussian Infantry, and the 1stEPI became a name of fear on the battlefield.  During these North American Linebattles, Feldwebel 5arge created the "Public Regiment," which was a line open to any member of the community to come and participate in these new North American Public Linebattles. The public players were drilled by 5arge in the 1st East Prussian Infantry's double rank manual, and this began to expose the Public to era accurate drill. Many of those public players, who participated in these North American Public Linebattles would go on to create their own regiments and structure/organize them much like the 1st East Prussian Infantry.

Litauische Dragoner

In June of 2011, Under the order of Major Rethmeier, the 1st East Prussian Infantry Expanded from a singular Infantry Company, to include a squadron of elite Mounted infantry known as the Litauische Dragoner. This new Dragoon squadron was headed by Leutnant Element, and trained in elite skirmish tactics, artillery use, mounted warfare, and was also capable of falling into the Line when called upon. The Litauishe Dragoner (shortened "Lith") became the elite of the regiment, and was only available to the most active and disciplined of 1st East Prussian Infantry Soldiers.

Litauishe Dragoner - Jun 2011

The Prussian Army

In November 2011, under Major Avoric the Prussian Army was formed. The 1st EPI, the 19te, and the FK were of the original regiments, and used the Prussian army as a way to train with one another, and develop a sense of cooperation on the field of battle during Linebattle events.  The Prussian Army still exists today, and many of the founding regiments are still participating.

--- 2012 ---
Mount&Musket: Napoleonic Wars

1st EPI in Linebattle - Apr 2012
In April of 2012 came the release of Mount&Blade: Napoleonic Wars, and much like the rest of the Mount&Musket: Battalion community, the 1st East Prussian Infantry elected to make the transition. Under the new Major Azrooh, the 1stEPI took this opportunity to reform its lines and reorganize in order to prep itself for the New Mod.  The Litauishe Dragoner was reformed and given its own set of calvary ranks, the "Oberleutnant" rank was replaced with "PremierLeutnant," the "Hauptmann" was replaced with "Kapitän," and other small changes were made to ensure that the 1st East Prussian Infantry was operating as professionally as possible.

A Year of Consistancy

Following the release of Napoleonic Wars in April, and the initial chaos which came as a result of the new game and transition, things calmed down within the 1stEPI, and not many changes took place.  By this time, the 1st East Prussian's dream of seeing a community that embraces a historically minded style of game-play, coupled with organization and discipline was starting to be seen in many new regiments who were basing themselves off of the previous EPI example. For the first time since its founding, the 1st East Prussian Infantry began to have a more casual and laid back style of leadership and participation in the community.

--- 2013 ---
Re-emergence

1st EPI Linebattle - Spring 2013
A new year brings new changes, and in February of 2013 came the appointment of the 1st East Prussian Infantry's 5th commanding officer since its founding.  Major Deofuta assumed command of the regiment, and helped carry the 1st EPI through the year. Much like 2012, 2013 didn't bring many changes in the regimental structure.  at this point, the Regiment had a complete understanding of how to run itsself, and new members were being most efficiently trained to become the next generation of 1st EPI leaders. The need for any structural changes or expansion had diminished, and the 1st East Prussian Infantry continued to educate members in a military atmosphere about leadership, discipline, and teamwork needed in order to be successful. The 1st East Prussian Infantry continued to heavily emphasize a mastery in accurate line drill, while also portraying the mature environment that everyone has come to love.

A Birthday to Remember

Under the leadership of the newly appointed Major Gunny, the 1st East Prussian Infantry planned and executed a birthday festival in celebration of 3 years of being a regiment. On December 11, 2013, The 1st East Prussian Infantry, along with previous serving members of the regiment gathered for a night full of activities including a highly competitive melee tournament, won by none other than the founder of the 1st EPI himself OberstLeutnant Argus. The night also included a Horse race in honor of the Litauische Dragoner.

Mount&Musket: Battalion Nostalgia

1st EPI in Linebattle at  the MM Nostalgic event - Summer 2014
The 1st East Prussian Infantry, along with some of the other veteran regiments that were first established in Mount&Musket, returned to the field for a linebattle event in the original Mod. For some newer members, this was their first look at how the regiment operated back in its early days.  For others, it served as a reminder of how things used to be, and brought back some great memories.  The event was a terrific success, and the 1st East Prussian Infantry operated in the most professional atmosphere while performing fantastically.  It was an exciting change of pace for the regiment, and provided all members with a better understanding of our regiment, as well as a new found appreciation for Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Wars!

Battalion Level Training

Having mastered the art of drill at the company level, the 1st East Prussian Infantry sought to challenge itself, and expand its knowledge of drill to include that of the battalion.  Coupled with some other regiments, who have equally expressed an interest in historical line drill, The 1st East Prussian Infantry began to train and work toward fighting in a properly formed battalion line, consisting of multiple companies.  While this requires meticulous attention to detail, and a clear understanding of everyone's job in the line, The 1st East Prussian Infantry actively participated in and helped to educate others on proper battalion drill. The Culmination of this hard-work took place in the "87th Realism Event," graciously organized by the 87th Regiment of Foot. In the event, participating regiments were expected to follow a strict chain of command while operating in an accurately formed battalion line.

1st East Prussian Infantry Four Year Anniversary
4 Year Anniversary Video - December 2014
The 1st East Prussian Infantry Celebrated its 4th Anniversary on December 10, 2014.  Officially labeled as the Oldest North American Regiment still in existence, the 1st East Prussian Infantry set its sights toward the new year.  2014 was a progressive year for the regiment. Expansion and activity were at an all time high among regimental members, and the 1st East Prussian Infantry sought to challenge itself, writing a new School of the Battalion drill manual for use in the Prussian Army.  Attempting to master new drill movements and standardize the way linebattles are fought throughout the Prussian Army regiments only strengthened unit cohesion, and The 1st East Prussian Infantry entered into 2015 as a force to be reckoned with.

--- 2015 ---

A Year of Commitment

2015 brought back plenty of events to the 1stEPI. The regiment continued its weekly tradition of linebattle events as well as trainings. The Monday recruit training was introduced. Many new faces came to join the ranks of the EPI. The 1stEPI continued the tradition of disciplined drill and double rank lines.

A Fun Year

Once again with nostalgia on the minds of many, and others expressing interest in mount and musket. The 1stEPI participated in another MM Russia throwback event. For many it was a reminder of old times, and others a fun offset to the routine of NW linebattles. The 1stEPI went on to participate in battle against the Gaurde Imperial on the 7th of March,2015. And later followed the Prussian Army against the 7th Coalition in a army battle.

The Prussian Army

For the first time, the Prussian Army celebrated its 4th anniversary with Battalion Screenshots, Horse races, and a melee tournament. The PA community stays strong inside of napoleonic wars, as well as outside. Participating in army battles, as well as war thunder events, and many more games.

5 Years!

The 1st East Prussian Infantry Celebrated its 5th Anniversary on December 10, 2015.  2015 was a productive year for the regiment. Many new members joined the regiment and have benefited from the organization and drill. As likewise the regiment has benefited from their efforts and participation. Through the work of these members, the 1stEPI was more then ready to take on 2016!

The May 06 Reforms

In May of the East Prussian Infantry's 7th year, it was announced that a series of reforms and policy changes would be implemented over the course of several weeks to transition the famed Prussian Line-company from its role as a Line Infantry unit in Mount & Blade:Warband Napoleonic wars to ARMA III.  The changes came after a long period of searching for a replacement for the now 5 year old, stagnant NW community.  The changes hoped to breathe new life into the EPI, and initiated a new sense of pride and motivation as members swapped their musket for a K98 Rifle.
