When are the melee and ranged tests? Are they during the weekday trainings? If so, I'll ahve a hard time getting those...
Yeah, they are going to be administered during the Tuesday and Thursday trainings. EU bayonet test on Tuesday and NA on Thursday.
I could fly into the Tuesday training around 3pm CT (4pm EST) and tryout, but I bet the tests would be over by then. Thursday training would depend upon whether I have church band rehearsal or not. currently, I have rehearsal every Thursday next month. I don't suppose we could make an exception for me? :P

I think it would be a good idea to players with no unexcused abscences. Right now there aren't any consequeces for that, and i think rewarding is always better than punishing anyway.
So maybe something like reset the count and one month from now everyone with no unexcused absences gets a medal, so everyone has the same chance.

It has to be during an event and it has to be a legitimate seziure. If I have people breaking ranks to run off and capture some colors I will be issuing Spot Reports, not medals.

Just a thought....
What about some kind of medals specifically for recruits? Maybe call them ribbons instead of medals.
I mean there are quite some active recruits who went through basic trainings. Some medals could work as incentive to work on their skills. I would love to win something over my fellow recruits.

Ribbon for melee skills
Ribbon for babtisms of fire
Reth will have to get back with you on that. I like the idea but we need something to make the recruits want to commit to becoming Soldaten.
Anti-cav badges and tests?
That may be too hard to test since anti-cav is a unit thing, not based on individual skill.
it woudnt hurt to train stabbing horses when we do the pulse thing and to have the guys that are inside the square need to practice shooting horses just ideas ;D
No, it's good for practice though. So maybe we incorporate that in trainings more. A few NCO's may fall out and mount cavalry to give some experience for those in the square.
Of course, when we're 20 men strong and we get attacked by 15 cavalry it really matter how much we practiced, we're about as good as dead. We'll just have to take as many of them down with us as we can.
We'll be fighting cavalry tomorrow so make sure to attend if you can. As far as during normal trainings go I may have the NCO's and officers fall out sometimes and act as cavalry.

Just as there tips and tricks for melee fighting, there are tips and tricks for the individual soldier when facing a horse with a guy on it.

You are right about the marksmanship badge. But you have only attended 8 events as Soldat (6 till the day the badges were awarded).
i won yesterday melee test, well i didnt won i made it to the 4 finalist while the other 3 were recruits, but i think i dont deserve the tier 2 (winner of a melee test) a tier 1 (Awarded for a top four finish in a European Melee Test.) is good and better than to what i actually did, because anyway i skipped 2 duals and only fought 3 cause there were uneven numbers.
Won - skipped - Won the quarter finals - Skipped the Semi finals - Lost the final.

Where's the Iron Cross? It should be the most elite medal and only awarded in the most extraordinary cases.
I notice a lot of the medals look like the Eisernes Kreus.
We're actually discussing overhauling the medal system at the moment.
I noticed there was a medal for "valor in combat" for officers, but none for the infantry.
I was thinking there were too many medals for things like participation, or getting certain scores in tests/tournaments, and not enough for bravery/fighting on the battlefield. But I remembered discipline and following orders was more important then personal heroics.
If you have a medal like the Imperial Eagle Medal, there will always be people chasing after it. Whether that's a good or bad thing I don't know. :D

I don't have a life, I'd propably get it, as long as i skip school (or leave early) on tuesdays... and it's only 3weeks, meaning 30 events.
Maybe just attending the 80% of the event would qualify you for it? because i like the perfect attendance thing.

However, a "never unexcused for a month/two months/three months" award would be plausible, if someone would find a good picture of a medal and implement it to this forum.

As far as attendance goes, I'd assume it would only be for days you're signed up for, not all possible events.

I think we should have a thread that shows all standards captured by the EPI, sort of a showcase for the Konig :P
Sort of like a picture of the flag, who captured it, when it was captured, and, if applicable, the name of the battle.

Actually, at this point I think it will be difficult to track down each and every one. Unless each and every captured standard was screenshotted... though it seems unlikely that all of them were.
But it would be really interesting if you could actually compile even just a list of captured or rescued standards, fannions, colours, etc. With dates, specific standard captured, possibly who it belonged to, and even the circumstances of the capture. For example, no one would care for a standard captured from a Russian cavalryman who lagged out and lost connection, coincidentally doing it right in front of the person who captures the standard. Where as a standard retaken from enemy hussars, in a rescue involving a long struggle, would be worthy of mention. :D
Then I think I will attempt to put together a list, granted we probably can't do it fully retroactively, but going forward it would be neat

Remember folks, if you want your Infantry Veteran badges; You have to keep track of how many linebattles you have attended and post your info here. So if your NCO doesn't post your attendance one day, we can't count that day!
Perhaps we will bring you up on the stage of the training map and make notice of your achievement!

Thought I'd take a quick break from writing and tally up my LB engagements. Since the forum reset and transition to NW I've been in 26 LBs, however, I have not been consistently active (by this I am referring to leaves of absence) for more then 10 LBs so I'm not sure I get a metal. Either way I guess it is not a big deal, I just was curious.

Hey guys, it's been a while since we have done a Medals issue; if anyone has any Medals they have Not been issued, we can go ahead and fill that in for Jan, 24th which is the Thursday Training.
Also, if you have been Recruiting, you can get a Bronze Recruitment Medal for 5 new Rekruts.

I have totaled up my engagements since the last time I posted here (Sept. 26) and have tallied a total of 46 linebattles (Come at me). Do I get both tier 2 and 3 or just 3?
After a lot of math, I have been in about 35 LBs (give or take 1 or 2).

Your platoon NCO's have a running count of everyone in their platoon and how many they have attended. They will notify your Lt when it comes time for your new award!
