E.P.I.C.S
East Prussian Infantry Chambering School.
Somone came up with the name, but i came up with the idea.

How about scheduling a day, just for thirty minutes, maybe around 6eastern, just to learn & teach how to chamber, and perhaps a few melee tricks.

Maybe on monday? an hour before the training? and it would be an optional training (I'm sure people will show up)

That way whenever we charge "BANZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI" on an enemy whilst in an event, we won't evaporate into death.

plus we would be able to learn a few skills that members of the EPI will remember throughout their entire mount & musket experiance.
and if our members have better melee skills during regular games such as in the MG server, some pubs may be motivated to chose ours over other regiments.

it's a great way to improve; Morale, Reputation (Hopefully), personal melee skills, and performance in the line battles (Conquests, and campaigns)

And why not? nothing to lose :)

Cheers!  ;D

If you'd like to organize this, then by all means go ahead.
However, chambering takes practice to get right and is the most likely thing to get you killed in a charge. If you're chambering in a charge, then you're focusing on the person you're fighting instead of the battle, and thus you are not contributing to your team as you should be. Proper behavior during a charge should be to stick together somewhat loosely, and block opponents in order to manouvre them into a position where a teammate can unexpectedly stick them.

I've found chambering to be an excellent tactic in public games to end fights quickly and rack up kills, but it's not the greatest of choices in a charge.

Alright, how would i be able to schedule the event? and i do need somone who knows how to chamber.
the objective was to be able to learn it, so it would be one of the skills that we subconciously have?
Plus we would add a melee training, just to teach other players some melee tricks.

Fritz

A good idea. Haresus tought me how to do it, but I'm not the guy who learned this stuff very easy and I don't use it too often. As Azrooh said it's great in public play especially in 1-1 situations or duels in general, but in Linebattles, due to ping issues, not the thing to do.

But there are a lot of tricks for melee and a training for that is definately worth it. If the time for your melee training would be european friendly I'd gladly help out.

we can organise a common time?

if we have the training at 12pm, eastern time it would be around 9:00  pm in europe? so if you could do the math with the exact country you're in? i'm usualy awake after 3:00eastern and up realy late at night.

but yes, if not chambering we could make it an occasional melee training, i think many people need it (Including myself.)

Sven

You're free to attempt to organize it whenever you want as long as it doesn't overlap with another event. I may try to show up, as my melee skills have become rather bad here lately :p

Velocirapetor

Sounds great. No matter how good you are at melee, somebody always knows a trick or maneuver you don't so this could be a good time for everyone to collectively share their tactics.

von_Brennenburg

If I have time, I would like to join this (and get my revenge finally  >:( ) :D

Good idea Hasan. We like recruits with initiative.
I guess Fritz, Haresus and Brenn are among our best melee figthers, if not the best. They love any improvement to their skill. So do I by the way.
Though I am not really a chambering man.
It looks cool though.

In melee in a 1 vs 1 or 1 vs more. I am very offensive or opportunistic. I prefer the feints and sidestepping and often go in without a block. Yes. I love to lower my defenses. It is risky, but that is my style. Against guys like mentioned above you can not last long in that way, though they truly hate it when you beat them this way :-) Fritz hates my right rotating swing (it looks like you are running away, but if the attacker moves in, he will end up totally exposed on his right flank.) Many players expect a left swing rotation. It helps if you have good ping :-) On bad ping this is asking for disaster. Anyway maybe I should consider using more chambering.

When fighting in teams this ofcourse not the way. You have to be more cunning and patient.

Fixed. Its a challenge fighting you because you have such an offensive style.

I think everyone has to find his own fighting technique. As long as you block in the right moments and have a good movement you can beat everyone.

Okay, so we can take mondays & Wednsdays, they are the only days where we can have both the lads from europe & NA meet up at the same time since there are no other trainings in the day.
as i said it would be optional, so no one would be forced to do it if they don't want

we can have at 9:00 pm (GMT) so about 4:00pm (eastern time)

would that be good with everyone?
or give me a time & date as a suggestion if you want.

part of my idea for this would be to have members learn a few basic tricks to counter the enemy, whilst playing as a lone wolf and/or a group.

plus some practice defending from different directions (To become used to defending)

I guess we can have monday for melee,  i was also thinking of having shooting drills (I'm a good shot, so i can give people a few tips on medium range shooting)  on wednsday maybe? about the same time?

i that would greatly increase our chances of scoring more kills while shooting from a line.

Avoric

I often accidentally chamber, I like to assume It is my secret hidden skill.

I can't attend on mondays but if this works out we might add it as a special section of training (or incorporate it into any future melee training)

Merius

I'll try to be there to contribute what I know, I'm assuming it'll be on the EU server because there's definitely different fighting styles depending on ping.

Hillariousman

I'd like to see how this goes, seeing as I only (purposely) chamber in SP.

Wulfburk

will come! since i dont even know what chambering is...
